UPDATE 7.19.26 ~ Good news and some not-so-great news!
The good news is the carpet is installed, and the space is finally starting to look like a real store again. The not‑so‑great news is that the stucco and concrete walls aren’t stable enough to support shelving. We’re also having trouble ordering some of the parts needed for the larger, floor‑to‑ceiling shelving units. Every time we think we’re close to being finished, Charles finds something we overlooked.
Once we resolve this issue, we’ll begin clearing out the storage unit and gradually restocking the store. Then we’ll assess the available space, determine how many vendors we can accommodate, and contact our vendors to arrange shelf setup or let them know if space is unavailable. After that, we’ll reach out to consignors whose items didn’t receive the full 90‑day selling period at our previous location to schedule drop‑offs.
We can almost see the finish line and are aiming to be fully operational by mid‑August, with a possible grand re‑opening on August 15th.
Vendors and consignors: please wait for us to contact you. We’re receiving a high volume of calls, texts, and voicemails about our reopening and can’t always respond immediately. We’re doing our best to get the store back up and running, and responding to messages takes time away from that work.
Thank you all for your support and patience. We share your frustration and are eager to reopen.
UPDATE 7.9.26 ~ Our carpet still hasn’t been installed. 🥺We’re waiting for an opening in our installer’s schedule so he can fit us in.
• One side of the store is officially painted, and the ceiling lights are up.
• We began work on the second side and discovered concrete ceilings, just like the other half of the store, which we were hoping to avoid. Drilling into the concrete is slowing us down as we prep for the ceiling lights.
• We plan to paint the second side this week and, if all goes well, have the lights installed afterward.
• Our electrician will need to return to complete additional electrical work we discovered and can’t safely do ourselves, so we’re waiting to get back on their schedule.
What this means is that we truly don’t have an exact reopening date yet. We wish we had better news, but please keep in mind that while our contractor completed the major work, everything else is being overseen by us after my husband’s regular work hours. The delays are simply due to scheduling and the amount of hands‑on work we still have left to finish. Thank you for your patience and support.
A few important details:
We are moving into a space that is about half the size of our previous building, so there will be less vendor space overall.
We will not be able to accept large pieces such as sectionals or other oversized furniture.
Once the remodel is complete we will evaluate how much consignor and vendor space we can offer, but we expect to accept fewer vendors than before and will limit the amount of consignor inventory we bring in.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition. Please follow our website, Facebook, or Instagram pages after the remodel for updates on vendor and consignor opportunities. We are aiming to reopen sometime in July 2026.
6.17.26 Update: Progress being made! The carpet & A/C units arrived! Unfortunately, the carpet installation can’t be scheduled until after the 4th of July. We’re tentatively setting the grand opening for July 25th, though we might be able to open sooner.
Store update 6/11/26:
We appreciate all the messages, calls, and emails asking about selling, consigning, donating, or becoming a vendor with The Spot.
At this time we are not accepting furniture or other items for purchase, consignment, or donation, and we are not taking on new vendors or consignors. Our storage is completely full while the store is being remodeled, and we don’t have space to store or process additional items.
6/5/26 Update: Due to shipping issues, some key materials needed for the remodel had to be returned and reshipped, which has added a significant delay to completing the store. Because of this, our reopening has been pushed back again. The earliest we might be able to open is Saturday, July 4th, though it may end up being the following Saturday instead. This date could still change if any additional issues come up (which unfortunately seems to be the theme with the store lately). Every time we make progress, something else seems to go wrong, but we’re pushing through it. We will keep everyone posted!
6/2/26 Update: For our re‑opening, things are moving right along inside The Spot. Last week we experienced another slight delay due to Charles’s full‑time job sending him out of town for work meetings.
The good news is the structural work is nearly complete, and we’re aiming to begin painting, lighting, and interior finishing within the next few weeks. However, due to a recent loss in Charles’s family, we will be traveling back east for a funeral around the same time we had planned to reopen in mid‑to‑late June.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this time. Once we return and have a firm timeline, we will share an updated re‑opening date. Thank you for sticking with us, we can’t wait to welcome you back.

Welcome to The Spot!
